Fans from all corners of the globe stormed towards the area where members of Dumbledore's Army were rumoured to have been sighted, desperate above all else for a glimpse of the man they still call the Chosen One.
The Potter family and the rest of Dumbledore's Army have been given accommodation in the VIP section of the campsite, which is protected by heavy charms and patrolled by Security Warlocks. Their presence has ensured large crowds along the cordoned area, all hoping for a glimpse of their heroes. At 3pm today they got their wish when, to the accompaniment of loud screams, Potter took his young sons James and Albus to visit the players’ compound, where he introduced them to Bulgarian Seeker Viktor Krum.

Idle gossip suggests that she and her husband both enjoy a little more Ogden's Old Firewhisky than most of us would expect from custodians of our children, but no doubt we all wish her the best of luck with her application.
Last of the ringleaders of Dumbledore's Army is, of course, Luna Lovegood (now married to Rolf Scamander, swarthy grandson of celebrated Magizoologist Newt). Still delightfully eccentric, Luna has been sweeping around the VIP section in robes composed of the flags of all sixteen qualifying countries. Her twin sons are "at home with grandpa". Is this a euphemism for "too disturbed to be seen in public"? Surely only the unkindest would suggest so.
Sundry other members of the Army are here, but it is on these six that most interest is focused. Wherever there is a red head one may make an educated guess that it belongs to a Weasley, but it is difficult to tell whether it is George (wealthy co-manager of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes), Charlie (dragon wrangler, still unmarried – why?) or Percy (Head of the Department of Magical Transportation – it's his fault if the Floo Network's too busy!). The only one who is easy to recognise is Bill who, poor man, is grievously scarred from an encounter with a werewolf and yet somehow (enchantment? Love potion? Blackmail? Kidnap?) married the undeniably beautiful (though doubtless empty-headed) Fleur Delacour.
Word is that we shall see these and other members of Dumbledore's Army in the VIP boxes at the final, adding to the glitz and razzmatazz of a gala occasion. Let us hope that the behaviour of two of their younger hangers-on does not embarrass them, heaping shame on those who have previously brought honour to the name of wizard.
One always hesitates to invade the privacy of young people, but the fact is that anyone closely connected with Harry Potter reaps the benefits and must pay the penalty of public interest. No doubt Potter will be distressed to know that his sixteen-year-old godson Teddy Lupin – a lanky half-werewolf with bright blue hair – has been behaving in a way unbefitting of wizarding royalty since arriving on the VIP campsite. It might be asking too much that the always-busy Potter keep a tighter rein on this wild boy, who was entrusted to his care by his dying parents, but one shudders to think what will become of Master Lupin without urgent intervention. Meanwhile, Mr and Mrs Bill Weasley might like to know that their beautiful, blonde daughter Victoire seems to be attracted to any dark corner where Master Lupin happens to be lurking. The good news is both of them seem to have invented a method of breathing through their ears. I can think of no other reason how they have survived such prolonged periods of what, in my young day, was called "snogging"
But let us not be severe. Harry Potter and his cohorts never claimed to be perfect! And for those who want to know exactly how imperfect they are, my new biography: Dumbledore's Army: The Dark Side of the Demob will be available from Flourish and Blotts on July 31st.

Так что же они скрывают? Неужели Избранный вновь окружён какими-то тайнами, которые однажды обрушатся на нас, как гром среди ясного неба, повергнув всех в ужас?
Возможно ли, что причины увечья более банальны? Может быть, это его жена заколдовала его, и в их отношениях появились трещины, которые Поттеры пытаются скрыть от посторонних? Может, нам стоит обратить внимание на тот факт, что жена Поттера, Джинерва, была рада оставить мужа и детей дома, в Лондоне, отправившись вести репортажи с Кубка мира? Достаточно ли у неё для этого таланта — спорный вопрос, однако когда твоя фамилия Поттер, международные спортивные организации склоняются перед тобой, а такое издание, как «Ежедневный пророк» поручает тебе самые лакомые задания.
Их преданные фанаты, наверное, помнят, как Поттер и Крам соревновались друг с другом в Турнире трёх волшебников, но сейчас между ними, судя по всему, нет никакой неприязни. При встрече они обнялись так, что вновь пошли разговоры о том, что же на самом деле произошло в том лабиринте, что могло бы объяснить такую теплоту отношений. Как бы то ни было, поговорив с Крамом около получаса, Поттер и сыновья вернулись в свою палатку.
В соседней от Поттера палатке разместились двое его ближайших помощников, знающих о нём всё, но всегда отказывающихся говорить с прессой. Боятся ли они его или это их собственные секреты, которые грозят вырваться наружу и запятнать миф о победе над Тем-Кого-Нельзя-Называть, не дают им говорить? Ставшие теперь мужем и женой Рональд Уизли и Гермиона Грейнджер были с Поттером всегда. Как и все члены Отряда Дамблдора, они сражались в Битве за Хогвартс и были осыпаны волшебниками наградами за свою храбрость.
Сразу после той битвы рыжеволосый Рональд Уизли получил работу в Министерстве Магии вместе с Поттером. Через два года он оставил свою должность, чтобы стать одним из управляющих в магазине «Всевозможные волшебные вредилки». Был ли он так уж рад помочь своему брату Джорджу с бизнесом, как говорил? Или же ему просто надоело постоянно находиться в тени Поттера? Была ли работа в департаменте мракоборцев слишком сложна для того, кто когда-то признался, что уничтожение крестражей «плохо сказалось на нём»? Со стороны никто не найдет у Уизли признаков умственного расстройства. Однако общественности просто не дают подобраться к нему ближе, чтобы сделать объективные выводы. Не кажется ли это подозрительным?
Гермиона Грейджер всегда была femme fatale этой компании. СМИ уже много раз писали о том, как она в молодости заигрывала с чувствами юного Поттера, затем поддалась чарам мужественного Виктора Крама, в итоге остановив свой выбор на верном друге Роне. Сейчас, занимая пост замглавы Отдела магического правопорядка, она один из кандидатов на повышение в министерстве. И, конечно же, она ещё и счастливая мать двоих детей — сына Хьюго и дочери Розы. Доказывает ли пример Гермионы Грейнджер, что «ведьма может успеть везде»? (Нет, не может, если судить по её причёске).
Наконец, недалеко расположились и другие члены Отряда Дамблдора, обычно привлекающие меньше внимания, чем Поттер, Уизли и Грейнджер. Невилл Долгопупс, например, теперь стал известным преподавателем травологии в школе волшебства Хогвартс. Сюда, в Патагонию, он приехал со своей женой Ханной. До недавнего времени пара жила над пабом «Дырявый котёл» в Лондоне, но ходят слухи, что теперь в их жизни грядут перемены — Ханна подала заявку на должность целительницы в Хогвартсе. Есть также слух, что сама она, как и её муж, в последнее время чересчур увлекается огненным виски, но, как бы то ни было, мы желаем Ханне успеха в её карьерных начинаниях.
Последняя из известных членов Отряда — Полумна Лавгуд, вышедшая замуж за Рольфа Саламандера, внука знаменитого Ньюта Саламандера и его жены Порпентины. Эксцентричная, как и всегда, Полумна носится по своей VIP-секции в платье цветов флагов всех 16 команд, участвующих в турнире. Двое её детей-близнецов «остались дома с дедушкой». Может быть, это всего лишь эвфемизм, заменяющий выражение «слишком проблемные, чтобы появиться с ними в обществе»? Хотя такое, конечно, могли бы предположить только злые языки.
Приехали на турнир и другие члены Отряда, но именно эти шестеро вызывают у всех особенный интерес. Стоит где-нибудь промелькнуть рыжей голове, и все тут же говорят, что это Уизли. Правда, трудно определить, который из них. Может быть успешный и богатый совладелец «Всевозможных волшебных вредилок»? Или работающий с драконами Чарли, который всё никак не женится? Или же Перси, работающий в транспортном отделе министерства и по чьей вине мы торчим в пробках? Единственный, кого легко распознать — Билл. Бедняга Билл, получивший ужасные шрамы после своей «встречи» с оборотнем, но все же каким-то образом умудрившийся взять в жёны красавицу Флёр Делакур. Что помогло ему? Заклятие, любовный напиток, шантаж, похищение?
Поговаривают, что всех членов Отряда Дамблдора мы увидим в VIP-ложах во время финала. Давайте же будем надеяться, что поведение их детей не опозорит их перед всеми.
Люди обычно стараются не нарушать покой личной жизни детей, но когда кто-то находится рядом с Гарри Поттером, то вынужден привыкать к повышенному интересу публики. Наверняка, Поттер обеспокоится, когда узнает, как вёл себя его 16-летний крестный сын Тедди Люпин — метаморфомаг с яркими голубыми волосами. Конечно, трудно винить Поттера при его занятости в том, что он недостаточно следит за оставшимся без родителей мальчиков. Но всё же страшно представить, что может стать с Люпином, если он так и останется без должного надзора. В то же время, Билл и Флёр Уизли наверняка когда-нибудь узнают, что их дочь Виктуар готова последовать в любой тёмный уголок, куда только не поманит её Люпин. Хорошая новость, наверное, только в том, что оба они — и Виктуар, и Люпин — научились дышать через уши. Ведь как ещё можно объяснить, что они могут так долго целоваться.
Но не будем слишком строги. Гарри Поттер и его свита никогда не называли себя идеальными!
